Frequently Asked Questions

What does NailExams actually do?

NailExams is a revision confidence tracker — not a flashcard or notes app. After each study session, you mark how confident you feel (1–5) for each topic. The app shows you exactly which topics need more work and lets you build a structured revision plan.

Does NailExams store my data online?

Your revision data (subjects, topics, confidence levels, and study plan) is stored locally on your device only. Only your login account is managed via Firebase Authentication. No revision data ever leaves your device.

Which exams does NailExams support?

NailExams includes pre-loaded topic lists for GCSE and A-Level subjects. You can also add custom subjects and topics for any exam board or qualification.

What happens if I delete the app?

Because all revision data is stored locally, deleting the app will remove your topics, confidence levels, and study plan. Your login account remains active and you can sign back in, but you will need to set up your subjects again.

How do I reset my password?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link from Firebase Authentication.

Why isn't my study plan showing today's sessions?

Study plans are date-based. Make sure your plan was generated or updated recently — plans older than their duration window won't show current-day sessions. Go to Settings → Plan Settings to regenerate.
